Waterblow (Water Blow Nusa Dua) is the limestone cliff at the east end of the Nusa Dua peninsula where Indian Ocean swells funnel into narrow channels and erupt vertically — the same blowhole physics as Devil's Tears on Lembongan, but inside the BTDC resort area. From a helicopter, one minute off the Nusa Dua helipad, you see the spray patterns time perfectly with the incoming swell sets.

What is Waterblow
Waterblow sits at the southeastern corner of the Nusa Dua peninsula, on a shoulder of limestone cliff that drops about eight metres straight into the Indian Ocean. The cliff is part of the BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Corporation) resort complex — accessed from a boardwalk that runs out from the Grand Hyatt, with a viewing platform set just back from the splash zone.
The phenomenon is straightforward. A series of narrow channels cuts through the limestone shelf below the cliff line. When an Indian Ocean swell hits the cliff face, the wave compresses into these channels and the water has nowhere to go but up — out of the openings at the cliff top, in vertical jets that can reach fifteen metres on a big day. The intervals between spray bursts follow the swell periods exactly, which means the show is predictable to anyone with a wave forecast and the patience to time it.
The same geology produces Devil's Tears on Nusa Lembongan and the smaller blowholes along the Bukit Peninsula. Waterblow is the most accessible of them — inside a resort, on a boardwalk, with no surf-club approach — and remains a free public viewing area despite sitting inside the BTDC area.
